Cement Treated Base

Cement Treated Base (CTB) is a process of blending Portland cement with either the native sub-grade or imported material to structurally enhance the load carrying capacity of the soil. The blending of cement with native material may be performed on site with conventional road grinding equipment, allowing large tracks of land to be processed in a very short period of time.

The benefits of CTB include reusing original base material, reduced sub-base depth and quick site preparation, resulting in lower construction costs. CTB is an ideal base course for roads, airports and parking areas. Once processed, the CTB is covered with a hard wearing surface such as a concrete pavement.
